Psychological Safety

As you know, my sweet spot is the interplay of three key spaces: Boundaries, Balance, and Outcomes.

I love this space.

I think it’s because it is both challenging – and so very rewarding… There’s an inherent tension amidst these three worlds. Each of these items can be viewed and addressed independently, and yet, that’s not where the power lies. The power lies when we combine these three items together. When they work in unison.

It’s powerful.

Lately I’ve been having discussions around the broader term of Psychological Safety – and I’m absolutely loving this article on it by Amy Gallo and the Harvard Business Review.

Boundary work has deep ties to generating Psychological Safety within teams. My clients and I spend a lot of time in the realm of “Permission & Possibilities” – namely, the Possibilities that arise when we create cultures of Permission. It’s massive.

Love that Amy directly addresses Permission in her article here:

Team psychological safety is a shared belief held by members of a team that it’s OK to take risks, to express their ideas and concerns, to speak up with questions, and to admit mistakes — all without fear of negative consequences… “it’s felt permission for candor.”

Consider the possibilities and opportunities that arise when we operate from this space of safety and permission.

Endless.
